About This Project

JNKA has an extensive history of working with Holy Name Cathedral Parish in Chicago. Making the facility accessible required an elevator addition for vertical access from street grade up to the worship level, as well as down to the parish support spaces. The addition was executed in the architectural manner of the original Gothic style, matching both materials and detailing. Other accessibility improvements included an internal ramp from the Nave to the Sanctuary, the creation of accessible restrooms and support spaces at the lower level, and the replacement of all exterior doors and hardware. The 100 year old Cathedral is now fully accessible.
