Project Description

St. Andrew the Apostle Church was in need of urgent repairs to their deteriorating concrete plaza and stairs leading into the church. JNKA’s design revised the slope and layout of the two stairways to eliminate a step in front of the existing doors and provide access into the Narthex. To enhance accessibility the new stairs feature detectable warning surfaces at the top landings and provide handrail extensions. A mix of red and natural concrete was finishes were used for the plaza to mimic the colors of the existing church’s brick facade and limestone accents.
