This new church replaced a temporary worship facility and achieved St. Peter the Apostle Parish’s goal of constructing a traditional Catholic church with overflow space for its growing community. The design of the 800-seat church was influenced by Romanesque architecture, whose sturdy, durable and timeless features appropriately reflect the church’s namesake as the Rock on which Christ built His Church. A triumphal arch portico provides a welcoming entrance and hints at the arched motif of the centrally located tabernacle surround on the Sanctuary platform. The new facility also features a large Narthex, handicap accessible Choir Loft, Mulit-Purpose Gathering Space, and Administrative Offices. JNKA also designed the marble liturgical furnishings and planned for future installation of stained glass windows, devotional shrines and liturgical artwork.
